RE-PAINTING OF CLASS BENCH

just in case you didn't catch the announcement i made on friday,

we've been given permission to re-paint our class bench :)

tentatively it'll be on 4th june, depending on when i get notified that the paint has already been bought. yes, the school's buying the paint for us, and they'll be providing some sandpaper and one or two roller brushes for us to paint our bench.

still, there are some things that we'll need to bring:

1. newspaper (we need quite a bit to cover the floors so that the paint won't drip around)
2. dish-washing detergent
3. scrub pads
4. rags
5. a pail (to store water so we wont have to keep running in and out of the toilets)
6. toothbrush / normal paintbrush (to flick dirt out from the grooves)
7. sandpaper (in case we don't have enough from the school)
8. more brushes to paint the bench (if you have any stashed somewhere)

i'll confirm the time again with all of you soon, but in the meantime, just try to keep this coming thursday free yea :) it won't take too long, assuming that we start at 9.30am and we'll probably finish by 1pm.

hi people,

the GP portal is up. click here to view it :)

do remember to register for a wordpress account, and notify either me or esther when you've gotten a wordpress account so that we can add you in as one of the authors for the portal. yup.

oh, and read the posts for instructions on how to go about uploading stuff and publishing your posts. it's pretty different from blogger, so, takes a bit of time to get used to it, haha.

hey all...
haha i am looking at the PW document on SMB while i am typing this...as this window is totally out of vision as i type it pls pardon me if there's typo. heh.

anyway term 2 is coming to an end and i noe many of us are...x-x or at least going to be liddat.
fatigue visited us since the start of the year. and pestered us like a parasite. and it's showing no sense of shame at all. and will not. at least not soon.

the road ahead is going to be tough... or tougher if you'd like.
(o man this post is like emo.)
there are many things going on, many deadlines to meet, many tasks to fulfil, many problems to face, many sacrifices to make.
personally, i feel it is getting increasingly tiring.
dunno about you though.
if you dun feel the same, thats really really really good. pls help ppl like me survive the rest of the year.
if you do, i wanna say "you're not alone." (at least you have me.../ wah die if i am the onli one, then I will be alone. lol...heck...)

quite a few ppl mentioned to me that our class doesn't seem as "bubbly" or "energetic" as we were at the start of the year... i mean it's normal la, but i just hope we dun make a 180 degrees turn from wat we were like then. =)

i always tell myself when i feel like dying... "Don't die yet! you are already halfway through!" what's been done's been done.
we are already in hwachong, already been committed to watever we are involved in, already not-mugged for the past months (for me at least.), already gone through so many torturous days of school (for some, school's sweet though...lol ;] )...
so dun give up now!
you have all the other A12 peepz with you and your beloved teammates/batchmates/frens and lovers (...well it can mean ppl who love you? XD)
what's there to be afraid of?? =)

加油! A12!
要永远记得,你比困难还要强!不可以输给它!(haha...getting lame)

pei loves you 4eva! take care and have a good and FULFILING holidays! <33

JOKES OF THE DAY :D

#1 - jizhou and his bedroom slippers

apparently spot check for Ares today ended off with the teachers going hysterically shocked and amused after seeing jizhou in bedroom slippers. not to be mean, but it's truly a hilarious sight :D

mr teh was exclaiming 'you think you're at raffles hotel is it? (or something along that line), while another teacher was saying 'for the reputation of hwachong please make sure you don't turn up in school with bedroom slippers next week :o ' and as one teacher went to another teacher to exclaim their horror of seeing a student wearing bedroom slippers in school, more and more of them decided to check it out for themselves and came over from their classes after being done with the spot-check.

the best part: mr yeow was trying very hard to contain his amusement while standing on the bridge when he saw all the drama unfold downstairs ^^

nevertheless, we offer jizhou our deepest sympathy and concern after getting scalded by boiling hot water last week when he attempted to cook instant noodles, and we sincerely hope you get well soon :D

poor jizhou :(

#2 - haircut session for winston

poor winston failed spot check today even after getting his hair cut yesterday, when mr yeow dropped us a reminder that there would be a spot check today.

and this morning during math tutorial...

mr yeow: so winston, did you pass the spot check after being hinted yesterday?
winston: no!? i still got caught! *indignant look*
mr yeow: told you to go cut hair what! your hair like that confirm fail spot check one
winston: i got cut!
mr yeow: where got! no difference from yesterday leh
*and we go 'mr yeow! winston really cut his hair! so much of it gone already!'*

here comes the classic line from mr yeow:
what did you cut? your armpit hair is it? your hair where got cut lah! (and does a little demo with one arm raised and his hands imitating a pair of scissors)

THAT, coming from mr yeow is just ABSOLUTELY EPIC, like seriously -.-

so, poor winston being rather annoyed for failing spot check, decided to get one of us to help him trim his hair after we commented that we could probably cut his hair better than his barber. haha.

winston looks like he's being punished to pull his ears or something, haha.

ok, that's all for today's jokes.

now on to more important stuff...

for the re-painting of our class bench, if there's no one strongly against the idea, we can set a date for it when most of us are free to clean and give our class bench a new coat of paint :) please respond as to whether you all want it on a weekday or weekend.

and by the way, because the geog people are having extra lessons on 1st june from 1pm onwards, we could meet up in the morning, say at about 9am, then paint and clean the bench until about 12 plus, and break for lunch, before the geog people go for lessons while the history people can continue to help paint. and when the geog people are done, we can go back to continue helping out. yup.

or do you all have any other suggestions? please respond on the tagboard or tell me directly, as soon as possible!

for the paint, after i get permission from the school's operation manager, i'll see if the school has brown paint for us to use, or we can just buy a tin of paint using our class funds, and all of us can bring our big brushes from home. yup. might need to sandpaper the bench before we start painting a new coat over it, so whoever has sandpaper at home can bring, then we'll save the cost on having to get other random hardware tools.

thanks :D

hi people,

just to ask, do you guys want to repaint our class bench? if you've not realised, the paint is starting to chip off, so it'll be a good time to patch things up and at the same time give it a good scrub because it's kinda dirty, not to mention there are ants running around in the grooves as well.

it could be a class activity during the holidays, then after painting we could either go hang out for a while, or just have a study session in school, yup.

oh and by the way, we've gotten approval for our class shirt. before i go place orders and stuff, can you all decide on the kind of shirt you all want? either a polo, dry-fit or just the usual round-neck. as soon as i get the quotation, i'll inform you all about the pricing.

and if any of you still have changes you think should be made to the design or colour schemes, please tag at the tagboard or just voice it out to the class directly.

Firstly, this explains another use of birth control pills in addition to condoms:

An elderly woman went into the doctor's office. When the doctor asked why she was there, she replied, "I'd like to have some birth control pills."
Taken aback, the doctor thought for a minute and then said, "Excuse me, Mrs. Smith, but you're 75 years old. What possible use could you have for birth control pills?"
The woman responded, "They help me sleep better."
The doctor thought some more and continued, "How in the world do birth control pills help you to sleep?"
The woman said, "I put them in my granddaughter's orange juice and I sleep better at night."

and since guys are better than girls, more Cheeeeeeena people are choosing guys as their offspring. This leads to unbalance in gender, and a huge possibility that most males there will turn gay. The following cartoon shows why Cheeeeeena is producing more of a specific good.

So good luck to all those guys who plan to live in China in future.

Meanwhile, this is still a good video showing how stupidity screws everything up.

huishan, hsinfang and i had a very amusing conversation this afternoon as we walked out of school to the petrol kiosk for some ice cream.

something along this line, can't remember exactly what we said...

huishan: hmm how come jizhou isn't back from the doctor's yet?

shen yang: don't know, maybe he's just taking a really long time to walk back.

hsinfang: you know ah, jizhou's injuries are negative externalities. see his wounds i also feel very sad for him, and at the same time it's quite gross. see, it affects our welfare and results in a loss of welfare when we see his wounds because we feel sad for him, and a bit grossed out too.

THIS, IS THE AFTERMATH OF AN ECONS TEST -.- WE JUST LINK EVERYTHING TO ECONOMICS THEREAFTER.

ah well. some pretty lame entertainment, haha.

hello people,

GEMS is confirmed this friday :D yay!

so, some details to take note:

Attire:
Ares / I <3 HC / Rev-it-Up shirt
&
Jeans / Long pants

PLEASE BRING ALONG:
1. a pair of gloves (VERY IMPORTANT)
2. a pair of long and thick socks
3. jacket (optional but highly recommended if you don't want to freeze)

GLOVES ARE COMPULSORY IN THE RINK, so if you don't have a pair you'll have to get one, otherwise you'll have to pay $2 to buy a pair.

as for long socks, it's to prevent you from having blisters or cuts from the skates, so, just try to wear them to protect your feet. it ensures that you can walk properly during the weekends, haha. (yongboon wants me to add that you should bring socks that you intend to throw -.-)

moving on to logistic matters...

on friday, our schedule will be quite tight since CT ends at 4pm, and it takes about an hour or so to get to kallang. this is the estimated schedule:

die die must leave school by 4.30pm (and we must all be changed already)
estimated reaching time is 6pm
skate for 2 hours, by the time we finish and leave is about 8.30pm
go for supper thereafter :)

& if you realised, there isn't exactly any allocated time for dinner, BUT THEN AGAIN, it's undeniable that we're a hungry bunch of people that needs to eat :D therefore, it's highly advised that you either:
  1. have a heavy meal during the 1 hour break before CT session
  2. pack sandwiches / light snacks with you to eat along the way as we get to kallang (but no eating on the bus yea!), or to keep in your bag and eat when you're hungry halfway through skating
  3. eh, last resort is to just somehow find some way to keep yourself full until you finish skating :P
anyway, the above-mentioned is suggested after taking into consideration that you people won't really want to waste your $16.50 by going out of the rink midway to eat, since the time is still counted into the fee you paid.

oh and in addition, if the class doesn't mind, we can pay an extra fee of <$5 and get to skate for an extra hour in addition to the 2 hours that we already have. yup. we'll see how things go on that day itself :)

if you have any problems please inform either me or jasmine by tomorrow.

so, be prepared for an evening of fun on the ice for our first 09a12 class outing! hahaha :D

OH AND PLEASE PAY YANNRONG $16.90 BY TOMORROW! VERY IMPORTANT TOO!

by the way, mdm yeoh will be going with us, so it means that attendance will be taken since it's considered a school activity. i'm sure you won't want to land our class into trouble regarding attendance yea :o

as for class tee, i'll be sending mr teh the design, and hope it gets approved soon. in case you're still wondering what we've decided on, it's the 1st and 3rd design, and the shirt will be black. we'll decide on what kind of shirt to have after the design is being approved, yup. hopefully there won't be any glitches of any sort.

ok, end of my long long report. heh.
