ok people, new and improved design, haha. hope this is better.

i think the best colour for our class tee would be white, then we can print the words and stuff in red and black on it, hmm.

the upper portion is probably going to be printed at the back. decided to include the 09a12 and used the hc logo to kinda symbolise a heart shape? since it does look like one anyway...

then the lower portion would be printed on the front. & if you guys don't want the 'i 1 2' idea, then we can keep the '1 2', and the names we either don't print, or just print behind below the 2 lines of words on the back. and as for the '1 2' and 'ARES', was thinking if we should have those printed in red as well, haha.

if any of you have photoshop on your computers and wish to do the amendments directly to the file itself, do inform me and i'll send you the .psd file, yup.

hello people :)

inspiration struck me and i decided to come up with our class tee design, hmm. take a look at it, and then give your feedback yea.

can't wait to get a class tee :D

this would probably be the front of the shirt. the 'i' is made up of everyone's names :)
basically it says 'i want to (1 2) ___', then there's ARES running down the line.

and as for the back, i was thinking of having a slogan thing, and in between the words you'll see 'o-nine-a-12'. the '1 2' is in replacement of 'want to'. so, there are 3 alternatives to choose from.

the first one's all in the same colour, just that there'll be emphasis (used a different font) to show 'o nine a 12'

then the second one is all in the same font, but when we print the shirt we'll have 2 different colours, like how it is up there

then the third one's like the first one, just that the alignment is different.

give me your feedback ok :) or you can try coming up with another design too!

Fwah! Hello A12, I've successfully procrastinated once again =X & so yesss, I did a new blogskin for our pathetic Economics blog woots. I created a new link too, so now you can access the Econs blog under the same account as our class blog's (p.s. you should really appreciate this & I'm about to tell you why)! Now, I shall share with you guys what I went through earlier JUST TO OBTAIN the stupid blog's user/password:

1. I assumed Guo Chang started the blog, so I called her. But she told me that I should ask Soong Hei, so I did.

2. Msn-ed Soong Hei, but he didnt reply. But he kindly smsed me afterwards to tell me he has no idea & that I should check with Yihong. & so I did.

3. Smsed Yihong. & hours later, she replied that I should ask Jasmine. well, so I did, hahaha but I didnt have Jas' number so I waited for her to come online.

4. &&& in the evening, Jas came online woots, but to prevent such to happen again, I suggested we should recreate the Econs blog under the same account as our class blog's. & SO I DID LOL :D

So, now that the blog's up after much hassle. Pleaseeee contribute by posting some crap useful articles/videos. Here's to share what's posted on smb.

"Econ Blog

Your entry can be in the form of the following:

- Review of interesting economic articles from journals or Internet.
- Economic jokes/cartoons that illustrate certain economic concepts.
- Video clips depicting certain economic concepts.
- "Forum-like" postings on views and comments that are economics related among class members.
- Any other relevant economics postings that will enhance the class’s blog (ILP work, etc)

For an example blog, you can view this blog created for C2 during last year’s humanities week @ http://hcc2econs.blogspot.com/."

yes so GAMBANTE A12, let's keep both our blogs ALIVEEE :D

xoxo,
KATH!

2 announcements/messages from fac comm:

1. Combined Sports Meet

Once again the celestial stallion, avatar of Ares, rears his/her fiery mane to signal the start of a battle

Surprise!!!!! It‘s CSM. We are going to own it duh. We are Ares

The Annual Combined Sports Meet is scheduled to be on 20th May this year. Deadline for registration is this Tuesday (10th March).. We need everyone to do their part.

So perhaps:
1) you’ve never tried track/field events before
2) you don’t really like sports

Fear not!!!!!

So long as you love your class and you love Ares and want to win, pick an event and sign up!!! It’s fun to own together :)

PE reps do register your class. CT reps do help your PE reps. Classes do sign up!!

Let’s show our unstoppable ferocity and (horse)power andstain the grass red,the multitudinous seas incarnadine ,and set the sun

on FIRE

From the Sports I/Cs

2. Top Secret: To Sell a Carnival Coupon

Hey Aresian! You have just been enrolled into the noble cause of fueling the success of our funfair by selling carnival coupons! We need a united, and unanimous effort on everyone's part to make sure that our carnival is an undisputed, and undeniable success. Here are a few pointers in your quest to become the next Warren Buffet: (he/she will be used interchangeably for gender equality reasons, not as a subtle jab to anyone's sexual orientation :))

1. Explore all your social circles-- whether it is your beloved OG, your awesome CCA mates, your cool seniors or amiable friends from other schools, dont forget to extend your warm welcome to them and invite them to come down for a day of play!

2. Persuasion is key. Give your friend a reason to come down, and tell him whats in it for her to purchase a stack of coupons from you, apart from charity to the community, of course!

3. Customer is king. J2s will be having their blocks all the way till the Wednesday after the March break; so dont try to push any sales with them until then! Instead, market the coupons to them after they're done and over with blocks as a chance to go out and have fun, and you might get a more favorable response.
Also, all J1 Aresians will be having coupons to sell, so do explore greener pastures, bluer oceans and yellow-er meadows when pushing sales!

4. Dont over do it. While it is great to be zealous in your marketing ventures, dont strain meaningful friendships over a simple business transaction. Just as inviting your friend to the carnival is a sign of respect to him, it is important to respect her wishes should he not be keen on coming.

5. The power of you. You'll be needing coupons on the day itself anyway, but remember to leave some for your friends :)

6. Have fun while you're at it. Use this as a chance to catch up with friends, or even meet new people!

The funfair will be on 28/3 (Sat), at CCAB, from 9am to 2pm, and we will be raising funds for the Singapore Disabilities Sports Council in view of the upcoming London Paralympic Games 2012. Last, bear in mind that this is a FACULTY CIP, not a faculty outing! This funfair is not catering to Aresians-- it is run by Aresians for the school, for the community. So, make sure your friends from other faculties know that they wont be being extra if they come down; to the contrary, they are fully welcomed as essential patrons and supporters of our noble cause. So Aresians! Go forth proudly with your coupons in your hands and fire in your heart and together, we'll have everyone know that-

♥ ARES C(ARES)

Sunday, March 1, 2009

With the stifling atmosphere around me driving me close to the edge of slumber, i begin to find myself writing completely out of point in my econs essay, and damn, its only on the first paragraph.
Nevermind that anyway, so let's move on to the main course, JTS!
This account strives to be as objective as possible without the superfluous injections of personal feelings so...here goes.

Situated at the edges of salubrious housing estates in a small little pizza chain, a merry congregation dubbed as A12 were milling in a dimly lit yet cozy bar (oh well, i shall cut the melodrama).
So, we find ourselves mingling in the cramped tavern-like chamber, with chatty acquaintances and cherry bartenders lightening up the evening mood for one of merry and relaxation (this is beginning to sound like a pathetic narrative...shall try to stop it).
Tables laden with finger food and pizzas of immense proportions as well as a free flow of drinks begin to tease away whatever layer of frostiness that remained as hedonistic tendencies surfaced upon contact with the consumables (can't...stop...writing...like...this...).
In no time at all, the last vestiges of awkwardness melted away with the diet plans of many and it was then did JTS came to life.
It might as well had been an extortionate for anyone cared as the freshmen of the A12 cadre began to interact with their seniors with much enthusiasm, and the air was often punctuated by raucous laughter or rowdy exclamations at rueful jokes or humorous jests (fine, i will really stop writing like an idiot now).
Camwhoring was the theme of the evening as it virtually inducted everyone into participation, albeit with reluctance for some (oh heck, last sentence i promise).
Yet it was intriguing to note that only half of 09A12's male population turned up...but nonetheless Winston's arrival was with great fanfare.
Possessing stupendous entertainment value, he rushed in and decided that the top of his agenda was to make his $30 worth it assailed the pizzas with great gusto (pictures can be found below); and man, it sure was comical relief.
Foosball was also downright entertaining for 09A12 boys (those who played foosball anyway) had a seeming lack of subtlety and were prone to manhandling the players by making them execute ludicrous on-the-spot cartwheels in a bid to send the ball into the enemy's goal; and our seniors certainly did look mildly amused.

At 8pm however, we were forcibly evicted from the premises (note intensive hyperbole) and it we move out towards the bus-stops to embark on our next venture on the Saturday night.
Once again, Winston demonstrated his undisputed comical value by jumping into a shopping trolley and demanded to be pushed along like some toddler in a pram.
And for some inexplicable reason, a mangled piece of meat attracted plenty of attention as well (how weird are we?).
Upon reaching the bus stop...we hit the quandary.
Presented with 3 choices, namely Hwa Chong, Marina Bay and Clark Quay, there was indecision amongst A12 and we probably sweated gallons of water by standing in the humid night then.
Regardless, we finally decided on Hwa Chong and as we moved towards the overhead bridge, a 171 crashed the plan into smithereens.
Half the group (slightly more than half to be precise) boarded the bus and while Eeruey tried to negotiate but apparently, the bus driver had little patience for whatever conversation we might have and shut the doors in his face before revving away (no, not rev it up) with uncaring brusqueness.
So, the sundering began.
Calls were exchanged and destinations like "Serene Center" and "Newton MRT" were heard but for all the good it had, it was evidently disregarded. So, its from here in which the chronicling of events shall only include the visit to IRC, because i obviously was not at Newton MRT or wherever they chose to go.

So what can you do at IRC? Pool and LAN duh -.-"
Girls took the former, boys went with the latter.
Anyway the senior team beat the junior team, gg.
Then went home at 10+.
Pardon me for the sudden lack of enthusiasm but if you would note, i did mention the weather is horrible and its indeed affecting me adversely.

Hmm, so that's JTS for you...and i know it probably sounds terribly boring coming from someone like me...i was never a terrific writer when it came to blogging anyway.
I guess ending off with reminders on the heck load of work everyone has would be good...

CSE: Yes, confront your fears about having to read (or doze) through the 80+ pages worth of notes...there is going to be 2 seminars this week i guess.

History: Write your essays, i know you love to (sarcasm intended).

Chinese: Mug for the test tomorrow morning (its too late now anyway) and do those reflections.

Hmm, i guess the rest have been mentioned already, so i shall skip them.

P.S. I make a preposterous class blogger

HELLLOOOO 09A12!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IM SO BORED NOW SO I'VE DECIDED TO FLOOD THIS POST WITH ALOT ALOT ALOT ALOT ALOT OF PHOTOS! (i should have posted them earlier but it has been such a CRAZY week!!!) After dramafeste, i swear i will slack like nobody's business!! =D

Let's look at The School Series!

Being extremely camera-shy, WaiKian likes to cover his face with his smelly, sweat-drenched PE shirt. Can i say 'EW"?

And people like Zhihao, who is not that camera-shy, wraps himself with his smelly, sweat-drenched PE shirt. I'll say "EWWWWW".

You see, this is purely a photo of Pei's hand. The heart-shaped thing was purely random. Pls do not look/think beyond that. =D

Heh.
Hui Shan and Shan Er.

I see Shan Er. =D
Shan Er is a cute care bear =D

Shan Er is a very very cute care bear =DD

Okie, Guo Chang dozed off. Orh hoh.
BBi! You know, forced love won't lead you to any happy endings.

Let's see what boys do when they are bored!
JZ will shower his attention onto his iPhone. Not fun.

They will purposely sit on their Gi to boost their ego.
And then deliberately straighten their backs to appear bigger and taller.
People like Qiu Lei just enjoys competition too much. While Winnie sits on his pathetic Gi, he gains victory by sitting on his bulky backpack. haish. Boysss.

Oh, and Winnie demostrates to Qiu Lei what is meant by 一山还有一山高. Boyssssssss.
Or else they will vandalise the ceiling with the water gun. Though it helps to publicise 09A12! =)
When you try to take photos of them, they'll give you a strangely innocent look. HA HA HA.
Oh, they like waltz too!

They'll eat in front of you and NOT SHARE. -.-

They'll go "SO WHAT?"
Or start mugging. (and this particular activity influences the whole class to follow suit, which is something good, i guess.)

HAW HAW HAW.

RARE smile. Like seriously.

Girls, on the other hand, are more interesting. They place hand-made pillows on their heads and snap photos.
They play cards, put pillow on head and take photos.

If they are still not amused, they kick boys. =D

JTS!!
(PS: I'm sorry for being a camwhore. I cannot help it =)))

Winnie the bear seriously looks like the pizza guy. HAHA!
Sharing secrets/gossip. SHHH. (WaiKian is sooooooooooo secretive.)

MUACKS!

Hsin Fang and her agonized look. HAHA!
BOYSSSSSS.
YAY! You know posting so many photos is super tiring! and Blogger is soooooooooooo slow!

People, I'm sorry for getting worked up and pissed yesterday. Its just that I don't get why things cannot be decided asap/ why we must end up as two separate groups. Okie, nvm, its over.

HAVE A NICE WEEK! =D

xoxo,
Yan Xin =))))))
